Israel Newcastlejsoc.com are proud to present for your reading pleasure an entertaining and educational look at Israel through the eyes of author and ex Geordie Max V Silk. Max was born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1949, he left school at the age of 16 to become an apprentice electrician. On completion of his apprenticeship, he went on to work in telecommunications, and later in the security industry. In 1976 he immigrated to Israel, where he served an 18 month compulsory military service, before returning to his profession as an electrician. In 1986 he married his wife Camilla, and in 1991 their son Yehuda was born.
